I'm being sued my an irate homeowner over what he perceives an an "improper installation of a steam boiler.
Could I have your permission to photo copy or print some of your text on steam piping to arm myself and hopefully enlighten the judge? I will footnote any and all info I bring. I won't pretent to be 'The Guru'. (Guru in training' perhaps). I posted a thread entitled 'steam boiler' should you want an overview of my situation.
I'm a licensed business owner, 22 yrs. in the trade and am a perpetual student of hydronic, steam and air type heating.
Would much appreciate your permission to do this. Also may I take the time to tell you "Pumping Away" changed my life and increased my business incredibly. Quick anecdote. Was trying to close a fhw boiler a few yrs. back. (He was an attorney). He never got good heat to his third floor.
I closed him in this manner. I told him when I was done, if the third floor didn't heat adequately he wouldn't have to pay me the completion check, (50%). I previously sized the third floor to make sure my cliam wasn't foolhardy. He wanted this in writing, not thinking I was serious. I put it in writing and closed the deal. After I was paid in full I did have to go back to throttle down the rad valves because he was overheating on the third floor! I would never had made that claim had I not believed in the whole 'pumping away' theory. Thanks again.

    Hey Ernie....

...man, I hope you make out ok with this, brother!!!!

I barely know how to spell "steam," let alone know what to do with it, so I'm no source of advice. I just hope you can prevail.

Does this homeowner have a brother/uncle/son-in-law/friend's nephew's cousin's aquaintance who is leading them to believe the installation is improper? It justs frosts me when someone judges our work based on inaccurate information given to them by some "expert."

Let us know how you make out!
