Anybody got some input? I've got info on powermate & escalera ,I've used the powermate before it seemed ok, I think the escaleras'way of climbing seems better [haven't used one but there vidio was good] the escalera has models that are mini fork lifts, look really cool! BUT..I wonder how they are when you get to the bottom of a basement staircase & it ends 2' from the wall?

I checked out both and decided on the powermate because it is made of steel. it is a little hard to push around without the load but works great. i have moved several boilers already some by myself (not recommened by manufacturer).
I bought mine at the factory in Branford Ontario while on vacation, they will accept a reasonable offer.0 -

They both are rated for about the same wieghts so I'm not worried about it being steel ,I've used the powermate you can load pick up trucks nicely the escalera forklift {if you've seen it} would work well with my van. Either product looks good. Thanks,Rich

I have the Escalera. Love it! I got the model where the forks are removable. Without them the whole thing is no bigger than a standard appliance dolly. With the forks, it really is like a mini forklift. I can unload from a truck or dock. Get the stairs too. I can walk a heavy load right up them and into the truck. They really are everything they claim them to be. There are pros and cons for any brand you get but I think the Escalera is the best buy for the $.

the escalera is slick except it is limited to about 9 inch stair tread height if i remember correctly. the powermate and the similar lectrotruck can go down a 39 inch step- heavier when empty but probably more versatile when in use.0 -
Just used our Powermate today
Moved a nice sized American Standard out a cellar by myself , well almost . Needed help after 5 steps when I couldn't counterbalance the load .
For removal of boilers I recommend the Escalera highly . Effortless in bringing up very heavy loads .
Bringing down boilers with the Escalera is more tricky - we had trouble with the boiler slipping to the next step when drop cloths were laid down .0
