What is the proper way to test the air pressure inside a Well X-Trol tank that is in use. Thanks for any help.

Isolate, drain, test...0 -
Use
a tire gage to read the pressure - after the "static" pressure of the system has been put to zero.
If you try the Schraeder valve reading with a tire gage with the system connected, you will read system pressure - not the bladder inside the expansion tank fill pressure.
Think about it.

As ken said,
With system pressure at ZERO, test the air side of the tank (shouild be a schrewader air valve on top of tank).
tank pressure should be the TURN ON PRESSURE LESS 2 pounds. Example, Pressure switch set 30/50 air pressure should be 28.

Thanks for the input. Wasn't sure if you had to drain the tank or not.0
