You gotta see the Old Faithful Inn
It has steam heat- from a boiler, not from the geyser. Oh, and you'll probably see (as I did) some clueless tourist ask the clerk at the visitor's center when they "turn on Old Faithful". No, I didn't make that up!

Bring your flyrod
Fish the Yellowstone, the Firehole, the Madison, and any other flowing water you see.
While in West Yellowstone, be sure to visit "The Dude". A nice little establishment that specializes in adult beverages. (Hint: When the barkeep yells "LAST CALL!!", he ain't kiddin')
Fishing Bridge is a great spot to kick off a tour and then you move on into the Geyser Basin. STAY ON THE MARKED TRAILS!!!!! Caulderas are HOT!!!!!!!
DO NOT follow too closely behind the tour buses! They will come to a screeching halt if even so much as a chipmunk crosses the road. Then, 120 Chinese tourists pile out with their cameras and start clickin'!!!!! Been there, seen it!!!
DO NOT feed the bears, or any other furry creature you may encounter. *NOTE* The only time feeding bears is permissable is when you can't outrun them or fight them off. Have a nice day!
If you think Buffalo are stupid and slow, you are 50% correct.
A cow moose with a calf (which you may not see) does not enjoy photo ops.
Elk DO NOT like being petted!
Try not to worry about the rattlesnakes. They almost never bite anyone.
If a Coyote pretends like he is playing "catch me if you can", DO NOT follow him into the tree line!!!!!! He has friends waiting!
True story, the last time I was in Yellowstone, a woman came up to a Park Officer and complained about how the animals were allowed to "just go anywhere". The Park Officer looked at her and calmly explained, "This Park was made for them, not for you". PERFECT!!!!!! She huffed and stormed off.
Did I mention that the bears "act funny" sometimes?
