Check out this week's issue of The ACHR News for a brilliant article on my good friend Tom McCart. Tom is going through some tough times as he was diagnosed with Lou Gehrig's disease two years ago and was recently diagnosed with throat cancer. Tom's a fighter and from reading the article, it appears he is making the best of it.

For those of you who may not know Tom, he is a business and sales trainer for HVAC and mechanical contractors. He was very influential in my decision to start my own company and he was generous with his time and advice when I was just getting going.     Dan the importance of a mentor

    We certainly are lucky to have a person with knowledge, take an interest in us at the right time.

    I call mine every Thanksgiving and thank him for what he did for me.

    When you think about it, mentoring is a way toward immortality. I have passed on a lot of what he taught me and therefore he will never die as his ideas and simple truths will always continue.
