Is there any kind of formula for converting from a steel expansion tank to a bladder type. My existing tank is 30" in diameter to 48" in length.

Assuming that the existing steel
tank was doing the job and that there are no changes being made to the system, you can multiply the volume of the steel tank by 0.551 to get the total volume and 0.222 to get the acceptance volume of the new pre-charged tank required. These values are for sea level - applying them at higher elevations will provide a slight safety margin.0
