    Excellent story

    and very well written.

Have had many a call from Lori in Florida starting with "Dad, there's water....."

At times like those you wish you had the Enterprise to beam you over but then realitey sets in and you know deep down they will survive on their own.

As you've said many times Dan--Thanks for sharing.

    What a great story

You have every right to be "one proud Poppa". Great writing style. I wonder where she picked that up? That story is so relatable to anyone who has lived in, maintained, or serviced in, a multi unit steam building.

I'll bet the leak was plumbing related....it WAS in the bathroom.

    Puff the chest out

and wipe away that little drip from your eye.

What a wonderfull story and well written, allthought the style seems strangly familair and yet different.

As our children get older "they" start to blossum. Some grow into a completely different version and some ... are copies of the original.

How proud you must be .

    Do I hear...

Joni Mitchell singing "Don't it always seem to go , that you don't know what you've got 'til its gone?" I thought she was going grab the wrench & fix it herself!

    What a way with words

Beautiful word use, a great storyteller. If she stays in DC she may want to work as a speech writer for the next pres.

    Dan,
You have a gifted writer on your hands. Does she do a form of writing for a living?

    She majored

in writing at Loyola College and aspired to be a full-timer at it. Right now, she's working at Youth I.N.C. in D.C. She does some writing and graphic design for them, as well as a lot of other stuff.
