My employer has been installing them for years

and with the exception of one design flaw on a R-410A unit that is a combo of WaterFurnace and Bristol compressors problem, which they are taking care of, they are great units. We probably have 30 or so units of varying ages, and they all run great, and the owners love them and their low utility bills. The only thing I can't help you on is using a pond, as all of our units are either using wells and dumping into a pond or ravine, or using Geothermal recirc loops. I personally only service them, so I'm not top notch on the install, but I have all the manuals, and would be happy to try to help you any way I can. Otherwise go to

    http://www.waterfurnace.com/

and get a hold of the factory to find the sales rep for your area.

    Is it

A pretty big pond? Unless you are in a fairly mild part of the country, you're going to need a pretty big pond.
