Proud to be an American

I just heard portions of the speech made by President Bush after 9/11. It was put to stirring music by a local radio station. I couldn't work for the moment -- hard to do with tears in the eyes.

I am more proud than ever to be an American and plan to show my pride this weekend. I'll proudly display our flag, attend a parade, shake hands with veterans, hug my family and hold them close, go about my business enjoying the freedom allowed to me and every other U.S. citizen, and say a prayer of thanks for everything I have -- and the brave people who have made it possible.

God Bless America on this special day and every day.

    I suppose

you did a count of how many innocent Germans were killed during the bombings of WWII and how many innocent Japanese were killed because of the A-bombs. I don't think John started this thread for political left (or right) puffery.

Nice message Mr. Hall. I will reflect on what the sacrifices my Dad, late Father-in-Bill and all those who have served and, especially, died so we can all be allowed to make our own little statements in this small world of ours.
