Zoning one pipe steam

Anyone shed some light on if I can put any type of non-electric zone valves on one pipe steam rad system.

Thermostatic Radiator Vents
are what you're looking for. Danfoss makes them, and I think Honeywell does too. They act as limiters in rooms you want to keep cooler than the rest of the house, such as bedrooms. Make sure you keep the boiler pressure low when using them, since too much pressure can compress more steam into your radiators after the TRV has shut off.

Make sure
you cyle the boiler (once an hour) with a timer in order for these TRV's to work properly. Danfoss has a good information bulletin on this.

Please see the attached PDFs for the Danfoss 1 Pipe Steam Valves.
Please note that before installing the TRVs in your system to ensure that the pipes are pitched correctly, the radiators are not sagging, and the steam pressure is at the appropriate level, usually 2 psi or less!!!!
