water heater

Has anyone seen a solenoid valve device in the cold water inlet of a water heater that has a water sensor attached to it and can be run down to the pan under the heater? When it detects water it closes the valve so if there is a leak you will not flood the area to terribly. When the sensor is dry it opens the valve again. I have seen the WAGS but those are a one shot deal.

Besides the WAGS device,
I have only seen one item that is similar. It has two "AA"s and is an audible alarm. If the water puddle "makes" the circuit, a loud shrill noise erupts - wking the dead or becoming one helluvan annoyance for the neighbors if it's an occassional or seasonal occupant.
But then, we hear car alarms and don't even turn our heads anymore.

Sure
Johnstone Supply sells these inexpensive water switches. It could trip a solonoid, alarm, flashing billboard, what have you
I bought this one to set on top of my father in laws sewage ejector pump, for a secondary alarm.
Are you having, or expecting, a chronic flooding problem?
