Rhomar Find the Volume Kit

You go out on a service call on a hydronic heating system. The pipes and tubing are buried or worse and you would like a quick way to figure the valume. There is no documentation on the system.

Our kit offer is simple. We send a premeasured bottle of a safe stable fluid which you put in the system. The system is circulated for 2 hours with all zones opened. From the system and after the circulation time, you fill the flush bottle we have included in our kit and send it to us. We will fax or e-mail the answer as soon as we receive the sample.

The modest charge for this service will be rebated if our cleaner and treatment are used in this system.

If this is of interest, call me at 800-543-5975. Or send me an e-mail.

    So

what is in the addititive Can we get the percent per volume measured at a local lab for quick turnaround?

    Then refer to a chart?

    Sounds like it has promise.

It is a standard corrosion inhibitor

and can therefore be left in the system safely. With Fed Ex we could probably get your answer quicker and at a much better price. We could also provide a test kit so you could run your own test to see what the ppm is.

The test is simple and the chart we have developed would make it child's play.

We will also do a few other simple tests at the same time so the contractor will know what is in the system as well as the volume. If you want to be the beta test, let me know. Some one has to be first. We believe this idea will make it easier for the contractor to clean up a fouled system and know what he is facing in a snow melt system.

As you can see we are trying to be an excellent support center to the contractor that does hydronic radiant heat.

    Do you need a sample...

of the system water taken before the inhibitor is added, also - to compare the "after" sample to? I was wondering if a similar product was already added to the system, wouldn't it affect the calculation?

The contractor could send us a sample before adding

so we could check it. However this product is not part of the inhibited glycols and since most fouled hydronic systems that we see flush from have rarely been treated in any way other than inhibited glycol. We will add that idea to the kit if the contractor feels there is any treatment present other than glycol inhibitor. We chose this product for its stability and high likely hood of not being in hydronic systems. We can easily test a pre add flush and do our other simple test on it to see what is going on in the system, before doing the volume test from our additive flush. This extra step would not efffect our turn around time for giving the answer. Your point is valid, but not likely to be present in the current world of hydronics.

Gotcha - I figured that was considered.
