What are dry contacts on a heat timer. Can an electrical source flow through them from a limit control.

\"Dry\"
means they are not energized; it is a switch and will close on a call for heat to enable another device (boiler, relay, pump, etc.) and the manufacturer will usually rate the maximum load, i.e. 220 volts, 6 amps.

If your limit control passes through any current then seperate the dry contact side with a relay. The dry contact is only a switch and may not have any power applied. Enjoy...Dan
