plan A: your scanner had to come with software
to display it
once on the display - it might have a "Save-As" option under the file menu - or an "export" option - that might allow you to export it to jpg(jpeg) or gif, both of which can be displayed here
otherwise, click edit - click "select all", then click "copy",
now open up paintbrush (the fastest way to that is to click on "start" - then "run" and type "pbrush" and hit enter)
once in paintbrush, - click "edit" then "paste" or simply hold the "ctrl" key down and hit the "v" key, then let go of both - the picture should now appear there - then click on "file" - and select "save as", and in the subsequent dialog where it says "save as type", select "graphics interchange format" - type in the name you want and save and you can attach it here
plan B if there is an 8yr old in the house she/he can do it real easy
