K.C. & The Sunshine Band

My wife and I and our best friends went to a "retro" prom last night in suburban Detroit. The featured performers were K.C. & The Sunshine Band. I have to say that I wasn't a big fan of theirs (although I enjoyed disco) but it was real cool to watch and listen.

It is always a pleasure to see a guy who has got to be in his late 50s still strutting around on stage with tremendous energy and talent. It gives us "older" guys something to brag about.

Yeah we hated disco back then too

Even used to wear a shirt...DEATH BEFORE DISCO. we called the disco boys zipperheads for their slicked back Da haircuts. But alot of the music was really good stuff. Especially compared to the garbage coming out today. That was a treat John wish I was there. shake shake shake...shake shake......play that funky music white boy..play that funky music right......Mad Dog

Didn't know they were still at it

I have all their records from the old days. One of the things about many disco performers was they really sounded like they were having fun- the late great Barry White was a prime example. Good to hear K.C. and co. still are.

But I think "Play that funky music" was done by Wild Cherry, not K. C. S. B.

    And

Steamhead was one of those disco guy in the back scoring
with all the ladies, while guys like maddog was, well mad because they were not moving and groovin to the music.

Yep Frank you're correct it was Wild Cherry.A Barry White fan too.Now it all clear, as to why we had all the pretty ladys coming over to the table at the beach, and I thought it
was because we were the only ones there.

Be great to see ya again mack daddy.

    But they weren't

playing Barry or K.C., so it must have been cause we were the only ones there.
