After almost a year......................hb

We finished up and started both Unico Systems today after roughing in almost a year ago. Jason has gone above and beyond with this project. We had to shoe horn 5 tons of air in the timber frame side of this home (notice the Southern exposure). The whole job, while stessful, was very enjoyable because Tom and Valerie are the best clients a contractor could hope for.
We don't get into the air side much, but we do it we the opportunity arises. I hope you like these.

What do you...
have on the tubing? Are those plates? And if so why? Just curious? It looks like a "sweet" install. But I wouldn't expect anything less. Only question I have is why so many terminations on that one wall?
Thanks,
Justin0 -
You close to Burnham?
I am going to visit the plant this weekend until Tuesday. Are you close? I would like to visit your company and see
how you guys do it.
I would like to see how you fellas do it.
Thanks,

unico
verry nice clean install with the unico system and viessman systems , where did you get the colered plastic outlets and the wood grills with loovers , O yes and the return air grill have never seen them and would like some information please0 -
Nice work Guys
I think the Unico goes nicley with the Viessmann work.
Shameless plug looks great, let me know who did that for you. I think a Milne Plate is in the future. If HB does it, I want to do it too .
What is the termination next to the condensor ?

That's the........
termination for the Vitodens boiler. I have the brass plates made by a local trophy/engraving shop.
All of the diffuser and return grills came from Reggio Registers in Mass.

Floor outlets
Nice job Jeff!! how effective are the floor outlets for cooling? I presume they're located at floor level because of the timber-frame construct.

Good work Heatboy
Did you and your crew have to cut in the floor registers after the wood and tile were down ? And how itchy is it working over that blown insulation ? Beautiful job in a gorgeous home . The fireplace is a masterpiece .0 -
That's correct, Paul.
Due to the stress skin panels used on the timber frame side. All of the registers had to be on the floor. That, plus the fact I wasn't contracted to do the cooling side of this until the place was entirely framed, inside and out. We managed to get our return from the loft two and a half stories up by changing some of the interior framing. We also roughed in refrigerant lines, drains and line voltage through the walls to the second floor bedrooms for a Mitsubishi 3 zone system. My little voice says we'll need it.
Thanks for the nice words. Paul. Hearing it from you carries some weight.

I had a long chat with The Bean................
a few years ago and he kept talking about branding. That conversation has never left my head. Hey! Maybe he is my little voice :-). I have tried since that conversation to establish a brand for Climatec. When someone sees one of our mechanical rooms, I want them to recognize it as a Climatec project. Whether it be a full bells and whistles project or a boiler upgrade, the theory is always the same.
Even though I am very fond of the parts I use on my projects, i.e., Viessmann, Wirsbo, etc., that's what they are...... parts. It is a Climatec brand system. I think everyone of us should strive to be consistent and try and create a brand name for our companies. I want my clients to know and feel that they would not get this from anyone else. Which, in my area, they won't (toot, toot!). That's how I want to build my business. So far, so good. Sometimes it is a battle, but a battle worth waging.
