DO WHAT??THERE???

As the heating supervisor for a boiler oriented fuel oil and plumbing company in Queens,NY, I was given the task of installing 3 150,00 BTU condensing boilers, primary/ secondary, snow melt W/2 zone-12 loop 5/8" pex, additional zone for 3 loop garage heat, 3 radiant loops, 8 more pumps for panel type heaters in the house, and a reverse flow 60 gal. storage tank. The mechanical room is 8.5'X 10'!!!
A logistical nightmare to say the least. Not to mention 2 expansion tanks, a glycol injector and a total of 20 circ's which needed to have their minimum straight runs mantained. Did I mention the Super -sized spyro vents and strainers, check valves, flow valves, globe valves, ball valves, relief valves, pressure and separate temp. guages, & over 100' of 1 1/2' kindorf?
Had to mount the boilers on the middle wall, so that doubled the length of the primary loop (2" type L)
Other than two minor design changes after the fact, we are on schedule and chewen' up copper.

    Didn't work.....

try converting it to a JPEG file and posting that. Bitmap files like those used in Paint are often too big to post.

    Save As...

In MS Paint, just save the bitmap as a GIF or JPG file. Click File...Save As... In the Save As window, from drop down Save As type... choose GIF or JPG.

    That's a great drawing, Frank

    a virtual boiler room!

How do you establish flow through the boilers? Are there boiler pumps not shown? Do all boilers fire at the same time? And wye so many wye strainers :)

Can't wait to see the installation pictures.

The boilers have internal Grunfos circs. The boilers are also individual high/ low fire, and modulation of one,two or all controlled by techmar.
Thanks for the compliment on my diagram.

One strainer protects the boilers; one protects the boiler side of the HX, and the other takes care of the glycol side of the HX. We've used nine lbs of 95/5 in two weeks, and plenty of flux. There are a lot of unmentionables inside the piping, and expensive replacement parts so even though we plan to do a very thoro flush out, the strainers will protect as they serve.

    The Picture speaks Volumes...

nice drawings got colour too! :)
One heck of a show case piece...like reading a book one can visualize the room and the dimensionality of the boiler system. looks to be a Great Statement!
