Not whining but

I contacted the two guys on your listings who are within 20 miles of me, and one guy[3 phone calls] has not gotten back to me. The other gu scheduled an appointment[after 3 calls] and his office confirmed it 40 minutes prior, then blew me off. His office calls my office ten minutes fter I was supposed to meet at the house.

Hey, everybody is busy. I'm friggin busy.

Wonder why people DIY? There ya go.

And you guys are probably the best, imagine how bad it get's from there.

Like I have time to do system design.

that you've had such a heard time and it shouldn't be that way. When it gets busy and you're out of the office for most of the day, it's difficult to return all the phone calls that come in.

But there's no excuse for not showing up for an appointment. That's just bad business.

    Hard to find help

I've given a local guy at least 10 chances to come and look at my system. I haven't really found anyone else who will even 'say' they'll look at it. So far I think I may have done a better job than the guy that was going to come but it's almost killed me...hehe. I've been searching high and low for someone to help me with my old system but I can't find anyone who will look at it, let alone two people to give me the same advice on how it works or what to do. I'm just in a quandry.

    Business

A good designer/engineer/tech is not necessarily a good businessman(woman), and I suspect most will admit it. That said, there is still no excuse for standing you up. He should have called you himself and apologized for his mistake and recified it to the best of his abilities. A friend lent me Harry Beckwith's book "Selling the Invisible" a while ago, and after noticing it on Dan's list I finally read it. I enjoyed it so much I read "The Invisible Touch" and "What Clients Love". They are all very enlightening books.

You have a right to whine

If that is the case.....sometimes people are taken aback when we tell them, we will not be able to come for 3 weeks, but that's how busy it gets sometimes. Try someone a little further from you - you may have better luck. Keith any reason why you didn't post an email addreess? Sorry for the bad experience. Mad Dog

    We are trying - Sorry.

Sorry to hear about your response. This is unfortunatly still a common problem ( sorry to say for us too - we are trying very hard to quit) It takes time, to help those who deal with the customer, to learn how to change their ways. Bad habits, like potatoe chips, are hard to quit.
