Oil Burner Mechanic

Wow It's amazing how easy it is to criticize the Oil Heat Industry. from my perspective on all this as an Oil burner mechanic, I believe we do excellent work, and we work hard. There are some butchers out there unfortunetly. If anyone should be criticized it should be chimney guys :) It seems like everything i've read is made out to be more complicating then what it really is... it's simple! with the right knowledge and right Epuipment "what's the problem" geese... I install boilers, oil tanks, water heaters, and i do service and resolve calls... there are challenges in this field, that's why i'm in it and that's why i like it. So before criticizing oil burner techs i would zero in more on those Chimney guys, they love to sell and destroy things... 5" liners "there real smart"

There are hacks in every field, but

if all of us involved with combustion were referring licensed or at least certified/qualified people such as the chimney sweeps that belong to thhe CSIA, we would have a lot less problems. BTW, are you also a licensed plumber to be touching potable water systems and an electrician to wire, in many states you must be, so be careful about who gets called an outlaw.

I've been in the oil business 37 years and I am totally addicted to it, but if history has taught us anything it's that any idiot can buy a truck and go into the discount oil business, FACT!

Funny thing is, if we crushed those used trucks instead of trying to get every last cent out of thier worth, there would be no discounters, THIMK about it!!
