Did not get my 15 minutes of fame at Wetstock

Dan offered me the microphone at Wetstock IV but I declined to take it. I didn't think the request would have been appropriate at the time and I didn't want to keep "taking advantge" of Dan's kind hospitality and offers to help my book career.

With that said, I would still like many Wallies and other contractors to help me out with my next book project which will be related to the mechanical trades and will tell real-life stories about people like yourselves. The project involves contributions from exactly 100 contractors who will share some of their business practices with the readers. I am simply the narrator who will weave the story into a nice neat package.

I'd REALLY like your input since I value the experience and hard work of so many Wallies and their willingness to lend a hand or word of advice to others. The book will be titled "The Next Contractor" and I hope to wrap up my research by the end of summer and publish the book by Christmas.

If you can help please drop me an e-mail and I'll send you the details. Thanks for all you do!

    question

Hello: Can you go into a little more detail about just what sort of stories you need? Is it about training employees, as the title implies, or...?

    Larry

It is about all facets of the business, i.e. training, business management, marketing, etc.

How much does this gig pay ??

Are we talking going rate here for time invested, or you just pandering for another freebie? Perhaps you should join some associations out of pocket or even subscribe to a few marketing sites to gather information. "taking advantage" from behind the monitor without getting hit with a beer bottle, how quaint.

    No pay

I guess you don't know me MJ. But that's okay, you're entitled to your opinion. Many people who do know me have contributed out of the willingness to help. It's called friendship.
