Pex for baseboard system

A manufacturers rep suggests using pex for hot water baseboard systems. Seems like it would save a lot of labor but I've never seen it done. Anybody using this and are there any disadvantages that I'm not thinking of?

It's done more and more often
We will use it especially on reroutes or repipes where there are a lot of finished walls. Its easy to snake. As much as I hate to admit - because I am Old school - I can't see any real disadvantages. But, time will tell. We are always told that the lastest products "will last 100 years..." we'll see. Mad Dog

pex for baseboard
been using it for about 3 years & you cant beat it as far as time savings but i agree with mad dog from the old school nothing like a good sweat joint.0 -
PXA
That's the only logical, cost effective, performance effective, product to use with convective radiation rough-in installations. Pex requires allowances for expansion and friction noise issues. PXA supercedes those issues. PXA retains shape bends, does not fight you, and pre-empts soldering procedures. Flow characteristics are superior to copper, and with the rising cost of copper, HOW can any responsible contractor NOT look hard at these FACTS?

done every day all over the world.
stadler rehau and wirsbo blast pass the copper installation times .... retrofit ,"around the stairs", two flights up and three rooms over ...radiant on second floor base board on top floor...then there is we have Leaks old quest or whatever no problem whip out the 1/2" or 3/8ths shove it through the other tubing ba bing! done deal! never attempted a slab as there are too many discrepancies in lay outs.0 -
We use only 1/2" or 5/8" Kitec. They make the best angle fitting for the baseboards and the tubing does not make any expansion noise. I have not piped a baseboard job with copper for years.
