Fun in Baltimore

The Wetstock was a whole lot more interesting than I ever tought it could be. Thanks Dan for the opportunity of meeting so many people who like radiators.
I added to my fun by roaming the city in search of some steam. The USS Constellation was OK but I turned my head for one of the smaller ships, the one that had a two pipe steam heat system with air vents on the radiators. All the piping was mostly concealed so I just got a tease.
What was better yet, was the Engineers Club: elusive radiators that seemed to be part of a Paul system. Does anyone know more? No one at the club could really tell me but I suspect something bad happened to their boiler because they have a lot of electric baseboard heat.
I also went to the Public Works Museum with very high hopes. The building looks like an old steam plant but the museum is just two rooms with some pictures related to water and sewer things. I had wanted the back room with the big stuff...
At any rate, I look forward to going to another Wetstock and also to going back to Baltimore.
Thanks everyone.

It's a wonderful city
with lots of nooks to explore. I'm glad you were there. Wait until you get a look at Providence!Retired and loving it.0 -
Baltimore has a lot of history
and is a neat place to explore. The railroad museum has big boilers on wheels. The roof of the roundhouse caved in from snow load and they are doing repairs.
My Baltimore place is walking distance to the Public Works Museum and the Inner Harbor and the fort and of course Little Havanna and The Thirsty Dog Pub and Bandaloop's Reataurant and the wine bar at the corner of our block...0 -
History? how about steam
Yeah, but does your place have steam? I enjoyed the Inner Harbor and Little Italy where I found easy parking.
Baltimore is real easy to get around in; while I was stopped at an intersection a policeman noticed my Ohio license plates and welcomed me! I was impressed.
I had wondered why the B&O Museum was closed, thanks for the explanation.0 -
There's plenty of steam heat here
including Vapor! It was good to meet you at Wetstock, Christian.
Doug, now that you've let us know how conveniently close your house is to the local watering holes, don't be surprised if you find some Wallsters knocking on your door.... ;-)
