VENT DAMPER SPINNING!?

Any ideas? Can an EFFIKAL RVGP6BK be repaired if the unit spins continuously when the boiler is not firing, or does it have to be replaced? I'm assuming that microswitch is stuck/broken. Thanks in advance, Adam

    I'd replace it

but first, check to see that it is wired correctly.

    if its a gas model....

then there may be some reason that it must open or close due to some safety feature how ever if it is for the oil burner then it is an energy saving devise and may be opened and the power dissconnected with out any further ado and with out an operational change in the boilers firing or burn. i belive it is supposed to close after post purge to eliminate drafting through the stack of latent heat...That is a designe feature to save quite a chunk of change during stand by...i go reasearch this right quick and BRB

    Hello again

If it is gas there is supposed to be a" hold open" to aid in trouble shooting.... it prefoms basically the same function as their oil flue damper... mostly set up around economy..and justa bout zilch to do with burn operation or function...the gas model that runs off the burn cycle is motorized as it were by voltage supplied during burn so i gotta figure that isnt the type you have.unless you have a standing piolit and some thermocuple in That equasion.
