To All,
Please Keep Brett, Jodi, and Jacob Bainter of Orlando, Fl in your prayers. They are really good friends of my family.
I will paste on what happened from the web page. If you feel like you would like to leave a message on the web page it is www.thestatus.com type the name bainter and the password bugs11 and that will get you there.

This website is amazing it has had I think over 4000 hits since Saturday.

If you are visiting this website, you already know Jacob was severely injured in an accident on Friday night, April the 9th.

Since many of you have heard our story second hand, we thought we would take a moment to share the events of that day.

Jacob had spent the majority of the day playing at a friends house. When he got home it was a typical afternoon playing with his neighborhood "girlfriends" Jessica and Hayleigh. The kids were riding their bikes in the driveway and I was mowing the lawn.

Unfortunately the day took a terrible turn. .. As I drove alongside the driveway I waved to Jacob and proceeded down the side of the house. When I reached the end of the house, I put the lawn mower in reverse. In that split second Jacob had jumped from his bike and ran directly behind the lawn mower. In an instant, the tragedy had happened.

We are thanking god for the amazing efforts of our neighbors who heard the shouts and their quick response probably helped save Jacob's life.

Jacob lost 4 toes on his right foot and sustained considerable trauma to his right leg. A large portion of the knee and thigh were severly damaged.

Along with the injuries to his right leg he had some severe cuts on his hip and waist.

That night Jacob was transported to Arnold Palmer Children's Hospital where they performed surgery to clean out his wounds and assess the damage.

The prognosis for Jacob's leg injury is still unclear. The surgeons and specialists are working diligently to seek viable options to restore his heathly leg. Today we are thankful for no infection and more importantly Jacob's strong will and unwavering spirit. He has been an absolute trooper, which leaves us no doubt he will be riding his bike again soon.

Our life was dramatically altered in a split second. We are so thankful to be surrounded by such love and support from our friends and family.
Now we will take things day by day. We know that we have a long road ahead of us and we draw strength from your love and support. Your calls, visits, prayers and thoughts make it possible for us to face another day.

We know you care about us and we want to keep informed. So please visit this website as often as you like, we will be keep it up-to-date on Jacob's progress.

Please leave us messages in the guestbook, we would love to hear from you, and finally... keep us in your prayers.

Thanks to all! If you would like to do more please E-mail me for information regarding where they can be sent.

You and your family are in my thoughts.

The most tragic of accidents alway seem to happen at a time when everything seems most perfect.

Your son seems very stronge. I'll be thinking of him.

    Update on Jacob

    To all,
Jacob made it over the first hurdle, He had the first surgery for reconstruction on friday. He has a Halo with pins thru his leg. This week they will start the skin graft to repair the wounds. They didn't have to remove a muscle from his back or leg to repair the damaged one. He has long way to go. The web site is amazing it keeps us updated on jacob progress, the site has had over 12000 hits since it went up a week ago.

    Thanks for the Good News

I hope that Jacob continues to experience a safe recovery.

I can only speak for myself, but I learned a valuable lesson regarding the usage of powerful machinery around (my as yet nonexistant) kids.

    All the best.
