What thoughts does anyone have on r-foil bubble wrap for radiant infloor? Is the r value they claim correct? Good product or should i stick with 2" foam?

thanks for any input

    Work's great for us, but

we like the dense foam not the bubble (packing filler) stuff. We also prefer the foam-foil-foam. When you use foil-foam-foil, it gets as slick as goose snot when you throw sand on top of it.

Scott, I think it works great under a subfloor, but I would use rigid foam under a 4" slab.

    TVM rFoil

We use it all the time under slabs Foil/Bubble/Bubble/Poly. tried others and only the stuff from TVM stands up. I did a 70 x 80 building with it. the concrete guy wanted to drive a truck in the building to pour the crete and told the owner that it would have to be pumped now. I told him to drive on it as long as they went straight in and back out again. 4 front end trucks with 11 yds each drove on it and not one bubble broke! the concrete guy and the ownwer would check after every truck went over it and couldn't beleive it. Contours to the ground nice also.

    Foil/Bubble/Bubble/Poly

    John,
I have read that a foil/bubble works better as a radiant barrier, and not so well as a conductive insulator, as it will be in contact with the mud on one side & sand/earth on the other. What do the specs. say the R-value is under conctete?
