it could be several thing...It sounds like to me that
you'll riding the max on your temp rise and its going out on limit.
I say this because it work find when there a load, and now spring is here you have a parcel load cycling out on limit.
Check your temp rise at the furnace,if its riding on the high side I would make a fan adjustment. That is after checking for dirty filter and collaspe duct, gas pressure,
this and that.
I not sure if this is a condensing furnace, but if it is there was a service bullentin, where water from the draft inducer would drip down on the valve and mess up the circuit board in the valve. Can check for you tomorrow when I get to the shop.
Hope this helps.0 -
Will be going over that
Smart Valve in seminar tomorrow. What is the Electronic Fan Timer or Integrated control used on this unit? Is there any LED code flashing on the electronic control when it fails?
Was the replacement control from Armstrong or was it a Tradeline over the counter model? The reason I asked is that control cross references to a SV9502H2522, if I am not mistaken the original did not have pre-purge and the replacement does is this correct?
I would also check the settings on the control as to fan times and possible limit cycling off due to poor return to supply temperature rise. The fan should continue to run if it is cycling on limit or if off on limit on a call for heat the fan would already be on. Most of these have a self-healing feature for fan operation if any of the limits open, blocked vent switch, flame roll out or regular limit. Also watch out for an auxillary limit in the blower compartment.
The other thing to check is the hose from the inducer make sure it is in good condition and no moisture inside or algae, it is a good idea to flush it out with some water and then blow through it to dry it out and make sure it is clear. The hose should be as short as possible. Also watch the diaphragm action on the pressure switch to make sure it is making full contact and full break away on the pressure switch. They have been known to cause short cycling because they do not make full contact.0 -
Ok I watched the tape He made it at 3:30 AM The Plight lights the burners all come on they will stay on for a few sec. to 2:00 min and go out this cycles 5 to 10 times and some times it will stay on and blow heat. I dont see this as a heat rise problem or limit as the furnace is cold at start up . it seems weather or longer off cycles me come in to play . as best as I remember I bought a armstrong replacement valve . thanks for the response ..
