Library Question

I bought another one of Dan's books today as well as a couple of bricks for the wall and then tried to check out the Library but could not open and read some of the documents. Some opened fine, others came up as if they had a piece of paper covering up their contents. I have Adobe on my system (as I am able to read some of the artilce)so what am I doing wrong?? I am not a computer person, so bear with me please. Any ideas?
