Buderus g215 - Venting question

Just had 215-3 oil boiler installed w/F5 Riello burner. Installer stated that a barometric damper is not required for the vent, since it is 'postive pressure'. A 7" vent taps into a standard 10x10 clay lined masonry chimney. The chimney is about 20' tall(2 story house, no basement). The old WM had a baro. Anyone have thoughts on this?
Thanks

I have seen some application where the damper was not needed. But here code require it if you need it or not.

Well
For openers I believe there is a slight positive pressure over the fire but that the flue will be negative. A barometric doesn't add draft it just controls it.
"high pressure goes to low pressure"
Local codes and the I/O dictate.
However it may be that in a 20' chimney draft is marginal.
I would put one in regardless . It willl stay closed if it's not needed. And on those cold winter days when it may be needed you'll get good starts from that Riello. Riello's really like a zero to slight pressure in the fire box and a draft regulator will give it to you every time.
