Does anyone have experience with this type burner. I am looking for some help with a wiring problem. I need to wire this unit to a taco 501 control to give this boiler priority over another boiler. I am looking for this unit to take priority and shut the other boiler off only when the burner fire's not when a zone call's..Any idea's?

I am going to take a stab in the dark and guess that you are working on Powerflame J burner (most commonly used on boilers). If you open up that square enclosure you will see a bunch of wiring if you look to your right you will see a gray box that says honeywell. That is your flame safeguard. At the bottom of that box should be three contacts. This is nothing more than a relay. You have common, normally closed, and normally open. You can use these to activate or deactivate you Taco 501 and activate or de-activate the other boiler when the powerflame is operating. If you have any more questions or need further wiring info such as a diagram email me anytime.

    welcome to my nightmare..

they say the pic is worth a thousand words. It's almost done, barring the owner wanting to change something else. I overcame the firing issue by pulling power off the aquastat to a 501 taco relay. When the burner fire's it open's the t and t on the other boiler. Now only have a couple modines' and baseboard to hang and can run...(I hope)....:) What you can't see in the pic is the other bank of circulator's for the motel or the two water tank's they had to have. 120 gallon's and 40...all piping goes overhead approximately 14 ft. Only issue I am having now is setup. Unit seem's to start a little hard and rumble...But have the meter all set and ready to smooth it out tomorrow...Other than a few issue's with the purchase of the power flame burner it seem's like a very nice unit. Recieved a unit for natural when propane was needed but that was converted today..Any thing I should watch for? Thank's..:)
