There are a couple of articles in the Steam Heating section on air venting that I hope you'll read if you're involved with steam troubleshooting.

It's All in the VENTING, and

Controlled Air Venting

These really opened my eyes when I was writing The Lost Art of Steam Heating

How are we doing so far? You happy?

    Library Access

    Dan-

I ordered another one of your books today, bought a few bricks for the Wall and then tried to check out the Library. I have Adobe on my system, but I had trouble openning and reading some of the articles. Some came through fine, but others came through almost as if there was a piece of paper covering the contents. Do I need a password? What am I doing wrong? For example, I was able to open and read the article by Baldwin (1897) on Steam Pipes/Wood Fire, but was unable to open the Hoffman Vent Valve article. I am sure it is a problem on my end, but any ideas/suggestions on what I am doing wrong? Thanks.

    There are no passwords, Carl.

But you may have to download the newest version of Acrobat Reader. There's a button in the Library for that and it's free. I'm scanning all of these for 5.0 or better.

I have started a new file folder on my lap top located in my tech tips folder. I named it "The Holohan Library" it's right next the folder labeled "Great story's and lessons by Dan Holohan" Somehow I see a larger hard drive in my future.

Thank you Dan for the incredible value you bring to our industry.

Now where are some more of those bricks I need??? Ah yes there they are..........

The library is expanding at universal speed. Time constraints have limited my perusal time but I must admit, you had me from Col. Cook. Your PDF transcriber wheely dealie must be your favorite toy since the erector set.

To me, this site is the greatest thing since sliced bread and you just put butter and jam on it.

    Thanks for all YOU do,
    Tom

    Dan,
I cant beleive how far the Library has come in the few short weeks its been up. It is unbelievable the wealth of knowledge that it contains. I would imagine a guy could write a book or two on its contents! I love the pictures of the drop headers. These guys do so many great installs you easily lose track of them. I would love to see more of the pictures in the library. When I first found the Wall if I hadnt had pictures to put up I may have been stuck. I remeber thinking what does a Gorton #2 look like? They say a picture is worth a 1000 words. Thanks for all your hard work. With this site you have created something very special that I have not found on any other website. You have created a real community.
    Thanks
