Pressure Gauge near Pressuretrol

I purchased three of Holohan's books and find them easy to read and interesting. I checked the pressuretrol and found that a "Knucklehead" had set it to around 4 psi. I turned it down to .5 and also set the differential wheel to 1 psig. My question is that I still observe the large dial type pressure gauge near the pressurtol reading close to 5 psi during operation. I have not had time to thoroughly read the books I rencently recieved but would like to know more about that dial gauge and its pressure reading. Also, I had a plumber who was familiar with Holohan's books install a flush valve near the Hartford loop. The crud had literally blocked the return! The flushing seemed to have gone well considering I have a gravel floor basement and cleaning was easy.I also installed new (and expensive) adjustable valves on all my radiators. I still have some knocks and assorted sounds but my sytem heats much faster than before. I'll soon work on insulating all pipes in the basement. What are some good main vent brands I can shop for? I bought some cheapies a couple years ago and want better ones if available.
As I write this I have two service techs from my oil company in my basement doing a cleaning. I'm going to show them the books and feel them out a bit concerning my beloved steam heat system. Also, I checked on this site for a good steam tech in my area to no avail. Anyone have any names in central Connecticut area?
Thank You Dan for the knowledable books and making them easy and fun to read.
