Heat loss factor for stone exterior walls......Cosmo

How do you guys figure r-factor for stone walls? I have learned to use 1/2 R-value per inch thickness. This homeowner plans to trowel-plaster the interior of the stone wall for an interior finish. After much friendly advice to try to separate the interior wall from the stone, they will not budge!!!

According to ASHRAE
Fundamentals 2001, page 25.15, the R value per inch of thickness for basalt is about 0.6, and for shale, granite, limestone, dolomite and marble all pretty much the same at about .033. A 10" thick granite wall would have an R value of 0.33 - very low!0 -
Thanks!!
I have to order materials from ASHRAE, then I wouldn't have to keep asking here....of course it is so much fun!! Wow, it's late for me.... how bout' you?
Thanks again Jerry!
