PH adjustment

I just finished installing a WM Ultra 105 and the PH is about 5 points below where I would like it to be. Is their any specific product used for this or is Bicarbonate of Soda or Soda Ash OK for this purpose?

    pH

What is the current pH? What pH are looking for?

    That aluminum block boiler

is VERY sensitive to ph. I'd suggest a hydronic system fluid to protect and buffer the ph. The Weil manual should have the ph range listed.

What's in the system now? Plain tap water? Was it flushed with a cleaner? That block probably doesn't like solder flux residue either :)

    I would suggest you

look at our web site at our two products for cleaning and treating hydronic systems. They do an outstanding job and are safe with aluminum boilers. www.rhomarwater.com

The PH is currently 6.8. I did flush the system with plain water in both directions until it ran clear about 30 minutes for each side. It really was very black in the beginning being converted from an old oil burning system to gas about 20 years ago (2 pipe gravity). WM spec. is 7.0 to 8.5 for the PH level. Is the Rhomar a good product to buffer this or is it a system cleaner only? The system has plain water in it now.
