Webster Vent Trap
Don Pryer
Member Posts: 1
A two pipe gravity return low pressure steam heating system has a 2" Webster Vent Trap at the ends of the supply mains along with a F&T steam trap. If the Webster Vent Trap is not working, What would you replace it with?

Nothing! Just a replace it in pipe, and install a battery
of Gorton #2s to aid fast venting. You'll probably want to remove the check valves below it as well. Webster traps and other types really became obsolete when coal stopped being used. You must save that trap though, for historical purposes. Mad Dog
