Does anyone have any info on this proceedure? How it is done? What tools are used? Who does it , or who can do it? Test is referred to in B149.1-00 Natural gas and propane installation code. Page# 106 clause 7.2.1(b). Any help would be greatly appreciated. THANKS.

It's a blower door test.Whoever is doing the energy audits for the federal grant can do the test.
Basically what the code is saying is if you have a tight house, you need combustion air.In Sask. if you replace your furnace you need combustion air installed regardless of how tight the house is.0 -

Can you explain what a blower door test is?0 -
blower door test
A special door that is adjustable to seal the door opening is placed in a main door opening. It has a large exhaust fan built into the middle of it. This fan has variable speeds and for the different speeds they can determine how fast air is entering your house through air holes, gaps etc. It measures the KiloPascal drop (suction) compared to fan speed and when calculated by the volume of air in the house, it gives you the air changes per hour... More or less!0
