Does anyone know of any problems with using HePex on domestic water. I have some left over and would like to use it in my own home on the domestic side. I have heard that there is not a problem but want to make sure.

Thanks,

Ken

    HePex

Though it is not approved for potable water it is ok to use.During the manufacturing process both pipes are exposed to hydrogen peroxide. The oxygen barrier seals it in where as the aqua-pex allows it to off-gas.I've had it in my house in the domestic for years. At a recent advanced design course for Wirsbo the engineer teaching the class said he also it in his house.

    No problem until............

you go to sell your home. Once the home inspector sees hePEX with phrase "Not For Potable Water", you will be replacing it with Aquapex. Same tube different certifications.

    Yup, What Heatboy said

We do not have NSF listing on the Hepex so although it is the same base pipe it is not approved for potable use.

Thank you all. Since I will be carried out of this house, I won't hesitate to use the HePex.
