Am interested in getting some feedback on the baxi wallhungs from folks that have direct experience with 'em.

Any problems? Any praise? Let me know, please.

We've only installed a few; very quiet, reliable and "no condensing".

Each house has it's own "ideal" boiler; depends budget and the available room for the boiler and there are houses begging for a Baxi type of boiler.

    Baxi

Baxi bought Pottertons, who used to be one of the biggest UK boiler manufacturers. Baxi/Potterton do a big range of boilers, some condensing, but I don't know if these are the same boilers on sale in the US. Only condensing boilers can be installed here as of 1/4/2004. Potterton's Netaheat boiler has been discontinued.

Yup, but they don't sell condensing boilers in North America, probably because the hydronic market is too small to to introduce a large variety of products. (MZ, for example, sells a condensing boiler but not their modulating-condensing boiler).

the retrofit condensing market is going to grow

now that we "wall'ers", egged on by tekmar and slant-fin, have discovered that fin-tube baseboards, can be useful, at much lower temperatures, than previously thought, - the “technology” life expectancy of a heating system, is now a fraction of it's physical life expectancy – there is a huge upgrade market – just waiting to be tapped

The Wall invented the internet too!

I have a low temp outdoor reset fintube setup that was set up before the world wide web even existed (which has allowed this wonderful forum here). It may be a stretch to claim wall'er discovery for this Kal... :-)

But I completely agree that this is the growth area of the market. When is the FCX going to get some competition so that the oil side grows as much as the gas side has been?

    correction

modern hydronics did not exist before dan holohan :-)
after all gill carlson didn't say anything untill dan dragged it out of him!!

there are theoretical inventions and practical inventions,
the person who brings it to widespread use - is the practical inventor – so we credit dan for it – tuff noogies on the others!!!
