Question about proper operating pressure

I understand that the pressure for a hot water system should be set @ 12-15lbs. My question is is the pressure set with the boiler cold or at the high set point? My pressure shows about 15lbs @ 110 degrees but at 180-190 lbs goes up to about 23-24lbs. My extrol#30 is set for 12lbs with pressure released from the boiler. pressure drops back to 15lbs when boiler temp drops back to 110degrees.Is this normal? Thanks in advance, RE Hoyt

in a nut shell...sound's like your all set...generally a system is set to 12lb's cold..when they heat to operating temp they rise to app. 22lb's...unless you have problem's with the pressure relief valve spilling I wouldn't be overly concerned..:)0 -
