complaint about the wall

Billy March Member Posts: 43
I have to lodge a complaint about the wall. I made the mistake of making "The Wall" my home page. Sometimes when all I want to do is retieve my e-mails, the wall is the first thing that pops up on my screen. I'll casually glance at it knowing that all I want to do is read my mail, when something ALWAYS peeks my curiosity. Next thing I know, its an hour later and I'll get off the computer and realize that I never did what I intended to do in the first place, just read my &&#@(* e-mail. I checked out the library and this is a very bad sign.................I MIGHT NEVER BE ABLE TO GET TO MY E-MAIL................Thanks Dan!!!!

Hi, my name is John, and.....

    ....I'm a wall-o-holic.

    (crowd responds..."Hi Joooooohhhhnn")

It's been 12 hours since I last climbed the wall, and I thought I had finally beaten my addiction, but sadly, I have been sucked back into my habit. I spent nearly two hours reading the various posts last night, and my wife was in tears the whole time. I think she has given up hope, and is gettng ready to leave me. I'm at my wits end, and don't know what to do.

    Someone please help me!!!!

Wait, honey, what are you doing?

Please, take your hand off the power cord...

    I can change......I know I can...........

    I wonder

if the Betty Ford clinic knows about The Wall?!? I've been addicted since the first foray onto these shores & can't imagine a life without the firends I've come to know because of this site. My life has been enriched 10-fold and I take great comfort in knowing I have somewhere to turn for peer review or for questions that defy answers anywhere else.

From the first days that were reminiscent of the Wild West to the "mature" Wall it's become, we have all grown as a family.

    Thanks Dad(G).

    Look at the bright side

I just spent the day with Cheese, Ken Secor, and our wives in NYC. That would never have happened if it wasn't for the Wall.

Of course, now, I'm sitting here at the wall, with everybody else that has this affliction.

Thanks, you guys, for a wonderful day in the zoo.

    And THANKS for the Wall.

    The gold ole days!

Who can forget the early days, eh? What has it been? 7 years ago since we all first got together? Who knew the power this place would eventually have. I'm glad to have been here since it's inception.

    The Wall,,,,,,,,,,,,

It is now 12:40am here. It is now Sunday morning,
(I had to check cuz I though it was still Saturday)

I just finished several hours of paper work, and I just had to stop here one more time before going to bed.
That is when I found this thread.

After reading it I kinda feel like a junkie who just came to the realization that he is hooked.

Ya know, I guess there are worse ways to finish out my day. I had that little urge we all get to jump in on wall just one more time today, and try to learn just one more new thing before I go to bed.

Maybe by reading this thread, I did learn something. I realized that I still have the urge to learn. I hope it never goes away.

Thank you for this place Dan,

    Good night all,

    Ed Carey

    The WALL

Has taken over my computer, my life and my mind. It is a good thing. My doctor says take 2 aspirin and a cup of food grade glycol and call me in the morning!

    It's like -

starter fluid on a cold winter day. A person needs a good shot first thing to set the day off right. Turn on computer, make coffe, check Wall - check Email - drink pot of coffee during step three. My wife is suspicious - she wants to know what sort of group this is - I then tell her about Boilerpro, Waco Wayne, Hot Rod (that raised her eyebrows)timmie, Jim Davis, Dan and his books - et al. But I'm about to turn off this machine - and attack a golf course (first round this year) So many additions - so little time. (thanks Dan)

Noel remembers when I first discovered The Wall

by my comment: "AHHHHHH It's good to be the boss!" The first week, all I did was come here. I'm talkin' 5 hours a day. Me Mum, was like, C'Mon, Matt, you you going to do any jobs today????? hee hee. It took me about 2 weeks to wean off it, meaning that I now had to limit myself to an hour or less a day. Mad Dog

    WWW stands for...

    Wall Wife Widows doesn't it?

My wife thought I was having an online affair with some woman named Donna Lion. Then she realized I was mumbling in my sleep that I was on line...

She's a VERY understanding woman, as are most Wallettas.

They understand our continuous quest for education...

Thanks Dan and TLM for the opportunity:-)

Some day, this place is going to be recognized for the site it is, and will be given the equivilent of the Pulitzer Prize for most informative, friendly web site on the WWW...

My business has grown because of the wall.

I have friends all over the country and world. Not matter where we go on vacation I know someone :).

    Sometimes I have to work.

I swear I bought the notebook just so I could check the wall with out using the other computer.

Somtimes ... you just wanna go where everybody knows your name.

    You guys are the BEST.

My name is Rocky, I, too, am a Wall-a-holic

I last climbed the Wall two nights ago. I wanted to check it last night, but I refused to get out of bed at midnight and fire up the computer. I take my lovely bride to Hawaii in 6 days. In those remaining six days, I must: Install two Buderus 215-7 boilers in a parallel primary secondary. Run all piping, controls, electrical, hang two 400,000 unit heaters 60' in the air. I have three other residential boiler installs to go in. I have two months worth of paperwork piled on my desk here currently. So...what am I doing? CLIMBING THIS DAMN WALL!!! AAGGHHHHH!!! Someone, anyone, HELP ME KICK THIS INSIDIOUS DEMON THAT PICKS AT MY BRAIN!!!!! Whilst on Maui, what do you think I'll be doing? SAnd castles? Please. sand WALLS!!!! STOP ME BEFORE I CLIMB AGAIN!!

    I feel for you guys

I had a hard drive go bad a few weeks ago..... what do you think was the first thing I did after getting Windows, DSL and Netscape running?

Log onto the Wall, of course!

The specter of Wall withdrawal was just too painful (you must search for STEAM, you must search for STEAM, you must search for STEAM, you must search for STEAM........and Vapor too).

I am fortunate to have such an understanding girlfriend.

Add me to the fellow addict list..

I find myself using this rsource more and more. This site and you fellow wet heads have helped me through some big jobs...talked me into drop headers(did one and I saw the light)...agree with me on black and cast fittings on steam...I must say you all made me feel welcome when I first started coming around. Thank You and I look forward to meeting some of you soon maybe next wetstock or at the "museum" if I could figure that out....My wonderful wife tolerates me on this site at least every other day..Just have a fear of knowledge I might miss.

    The Wall

I think about the similarities between the Wall and the prospecters of the 1800's. Pick up some words and letters, swish (surf) around and come up with pure gold.

    okay

I have to admit it now. I wasn't sure if I am addicted or not, so I asked my wife. Her being the psychology grad student, I figured she'd give me a straight and honest assessment. Her diatribe was a bit lengthy, and she threw in a few other afflictions she seems to think I have. :) But, she assures me she's not interested in trading me in. Whew, that's too expensive to do twice !
