Integrating Solar

The guy who used to work with Tom Olds
Yes! It's me, but not exactly the same guy. I'm a little smarter, but my memory's a little worse. That's a tough combination. ;-)
Tom and I go back a long way. SunPower Consumer Association in the 80's, then later on a little at Essential Energy. The good old days when I was young and strong and Tom was still doing solar. I gotta hand to you for hanging in there!
Guess I don't see HOW the 1/2" manifold works, but it doesn't matter... who cares how it works, as long as it does.
Is Dave Woycio Metro Man's secret identity? Or am I remembering wrong?0 -
I have extensive solar as well as Radiant Heat experience.
i am in Southern CA, though. How far North are you?

That would be me. Don't know how secret the identity is though. Are you still in CO? We've got a shop near Hampden and Sante Fe. Stop in sometime and we can trade war stories.0 -
Hot Rod
If you can get your hands on an old C-100 P2 controller you can program it for proportional controlling. Independent Energy (now Goldline) manufacured them. Setting the dip switches will give you that option. If you can't find one and are REALLY interested I'll look around the shop and see if we have one.
Great to hear people using solar thermal back east. I installed a system for my brother at his house in Baltimore to heat his pool a few years ago and he loves the free heat. Told him I'd do it in exchange for all the beer and crabs I could consume. I think we we're about even.
Speaking of beer and crabs, I'll be in Baltimore this weekend visiting some family and will be attending Wetstock IV. I've never been to one of these and am looking forward to getting together with pros. that have similar interests.0 -

Dual Coil Super Stor
According to my local distributor, the dual coil superstor's are actually single coils with a double wall. Are they wrong? They suggested a traditional indirect and a plate heat exchanger and circ for the solar end.
What are some other sources of dual coil indirects?
Is there a real risk failure contaminating the potable water with glycol?
