New Riello burner w/ buderus G115: anyone else issues?

Since Riello changed their blast tube design less than a year ago, has anyone else had issues with proper setup and stability? Is it just the match up with the Buderus G115 series?

What is the difference in the applications of one versus the other? We do residential retrofits for baseboard applications with indirects mostly; not very much radiant.

    BF

The BF(balanced flue) has a fresh air intake piped to the outside .It is used with a direct vent set up. Instead of a chimney , the boiler is vented ,without electrical power through a outside wall.. You can also use it without the direct vent.Reasons efficacy ,noise, lint area , ect.... You need to use the post purge BF model for a direct vent....

    BF series problems

Yes - there have been numerous cases with issues

Very touchy to settings and don't light off well (strong pulsations, sooty smells, occasional retries on start)

Had one installed late last year and it took a lot of tweaking to get it working and to date it's still not quite right.

Big Ed had suggested a few things that seemed to really help significantly. Boost pump pressure to same spec as F series (170-180 psi) and start with turbulator and air setting for F series, and work from there.

Best thing for all is to keep lots of pressure on Riello and Buderus because they need to get their hands around this issue.

    I've installed

the BF's in laundry room/boiler rooms.Vented the appliance in a chimney.Avoiding bad makeup air conditions.I like to avoid the direct vents like the plague.Paranoid........me?,yup

Definitely agree, talk to Buderus. Riello has not been helpful on this isssue with me.
