Has anyone seen the new Dunkirk Quantum 90-200.I was very impressed.Aluminum block solid one piece.Forced draft burner, simple controls.Very, very user friendly.Looked like a very nice reliable simple design.90% plus rated. Was told not affected by low water returns.Actually increases efficiency with cold return.I think they did a slendid job on this design.Check em out see what your opinion is.Casting made locally and american made!!!Clarence

I have several jobs I plan on using them

They appear to be quite good, and a bargain compared to most condensors. Nice to see a boiler with a factory equipped low water cut off. When looking at the Q90 -200 versus a standard cast iron power vent, I expect the installed cost to be about the same since you don't have to install a LWCO and return temp protection. They are probably best used on higher mass systems (converted gravity, with a storage tank, or stage fired commericial because of the lack of modulation. I beleive they use the same venturi type Honeywell gas train as the Munchkin and Weil.

I have several jobs which I hope to use them. One gravity converion, staged for a new system for church, and staged for a large home.

    Boilerpro -venturi

Hello Boilerpro. My first seeing them yesterday.Yes they use a venturi honeywell valve.Soon to come with modulation I'm told.I've seen many new flavors of the year come around.I was honestly impressed with the one piece aluminum block.Very simple control and the lwco come on it.Explained to me that the return water temp you need not worry at any temp. This ought to be a nice radiant boiler ,you don't need any fancy controls to operate at low temp.Has an air venturi along with the gas venturi,I think they really did their homework on this.Cost, very reasonable from the quotes I recieved.wouldn't pay to use a lesser boiler at the price and ease of installation. One man can cart it into a basement easily.I was shocked at the light weight.Looks like a keeper to me. Old fashioned american made to boot! That I really like.Clarence

    Another little tidbit

I also understand they are quite resistant to cold thermal shock due to the very large block size. This is good if you have multiple zones and the boiler may be hot when a cold zone comes on. A condensing boiler designed to run well at low temps continuously does not necessarily mean it good for sudden large changes in temp.

At the CMX show here in Toronto. SWEET! 1/2 PSI drop through the heat exchanger (got that from their tech rep), no cover plate for the flue, no bypass or injection piping required.Loves cold water. Can't wait to try one on..and it comes complete, valves, pump, LWCO. I love it. And I hear the casting is US not ofshore either.

    presuure drop?

does any one know if the pressure drop on dunk is less than weil ultra and why

    does it need p/s

what does it need pump wise

    I believe its alot less

because the block is simply much bigger. No P/S is required. I suspect the P/S secondary requirement for the Weil is due to the high head needs and to help prevent cold shock. Probably good to install either boiler P/S due to reducing shock. I believe pump is just the little old grundfos UP, taco 007 , or B&G NRF-22. No high head pumps required, which decrease efficiency because of the increase in electrical usage. I haven't yet seen one in person, but have the installation lit.
