expansion fittings on baseboard heating system

I have a 1 year old hydronic system with 2 long loops. The upstairs loop makes aot of ticking noise as it expands. Is there some type of fitting that could be installed to reduce the noise by obsorbing some of the expansion?
Thanks for your consideration on my problem.
Tony

THE PROBLEM might be wall and ceiling penetration holes might be cut to tight and no clearance allowed for expansion and contraction. expansion joints are usually not nessary in private dwellings.

I don't think it would be practical to remove the pipes to enlarge all the holes. So I will ask again, is there aan expansion device that can be installed in the 3/4 in tubing?

    expansion joints

cut the pipe in the center of the run and solder a manufactured expansion joint into the circuit.they are available in any reputable plumbing and heating supply house. Slant-Fin most probably makes them. if that doesn't work you might try to trim the wood or plaster on the point of entry of the piping. removing the piping is not necessary .you would simply be enlarging the penetration holes. it should be pretty easy to do if you are mechanical. if not hire a plumber or even a handi-man to help you. do not cut the pipe. that would be very bad.

    Ticking noises.

yes there are expansion devices. they look like a large Coupling .cut a pipe cut X"s out tighten it back up done deal. thing is however...ticking noises in hot water base board systemsHWBB is usually do to the Fins on the fin tube. there is a "comb" used to comb out the pieces that are crushed in a bit... the second bigest cause of creaking or a very deliberate tick ing is solve pretty quick with a product called SI-LOOB its like wd40 in the silicone variety. spray it around the pipe as it or where it penetrates floors or walls. expansion joints as another contributor said is more likely to be seen on 1&1/4" industrial size running hundrers of feet around and back to a boiler room. i hope this helps.one more easy sorta Fix where the "Fin tube" rests on the brackets holding it off the floor in alignement put some small piece of carbdboard ...see if that helps.

    Slant Fin

is the brand I have used forever. They also list flex connectors for the ends.

Minimizing temperature swings will make a difference. Consider an outdoor reset control to keep temperatures down and lessen temperature swings in the system.

If the piping was fit to tightly in holes, or fastened against joists, it may be tough to fix that tick!

That ticking is the sound of heat ! A good thing to hear on a cold night :)

    hot rod

    New Baseboard

IF the baseboard is old you may want to consider new base board. This way it can be set loose and the pipe passages could be widen . Alot of older developments heating systems were thrown is with out a care . It could be time for new radiaton which would also brighten up the rooms.

( If your not running a coil for hot water)......... As hot rod mentioned a out door reset would also work for the noise. It would also save on your fuel usage and give you better comfort . This control will lower the boiler water temperture and the outdoor temperture rises. In the mean time lower your aquastat down in the milder wheather would also help with the expantion noise.
