Revolutionary new radiant floor heat concept

about how we can bring the cost way down. Here it is..

I'll call it Neanderthal Radiant.

Basically I'll supply a steel pipe tripod stand like the Boy Scouts use at camp outs. The homeowner merely builds a fire with the tripod suspending a large kettle of H2O over the fire. Larger homes= larger kettles, or multiple pots.

When the pot boils you quickly, and carefully, haul the pot in and spill it all over your concrete floors! Of course actual output is limited, but consider the cost!

This system does away with problematic heat loss calcs and designs, complicated tube installation, pumps, mixing devices, combustible fuels inside the envelop, code issues, operator skill level, etc, etc.

It could be done anywhere there is a source of fire. Not limited at all to the US market. Wood, charcol, Enron stock certificates, camel dung, etc.

Need to work out a few bugs, of course.

    Could'nt this system

Be used in the summer time without the fire and provide limited air conditioning ?

    Just curious

    Even more high tech.....

I am opting for the upgraded system with outdoor reset.

I will hold a glass of water, put a bic lighter under it, and will light the bic proportionally if I need more heat.

    Regards,

    PR

    I'm guessn'...............

this is an open system since the pot can't have a lid.You can also use it for your DHW eh?

    cheese..........hot rod.......always the thinker
  • Limited Output LOL

I wonder if the evaporative effect will actually create "free "Limited free evaporative cooling" We may still have to deal with humidity issues:( But, the price certainly can't be beat.

What about the competition? Cro-Magnom Radiant. Those old timers from France. Certainly no health concerns with their brood.

    simplify

This sounds pretty complex to me. You might be able to simplify things a bit if you get rid of the pot and just light the fire UNDER your concrete floor. Hmmm, that might be a hypocaust.-)

    actually larry

that is the roman system, which i have patented in over 51 countries!

  • I think that if

you do this, a pipe from the tap from the pot to the individual rooms using a solenoid valve so hot water dumps automatically on the floor would be labour savings to the HO. also include a auto fill for the pot like a toilet fill..

This gives automatic zone control and the HO only has to load wood.

This would of course be the cadillac version of your system.

    Mike.

PS I love the idea..I can see the marketing campain already.

HOT and CLEAN floors. Can I be the Canadian Distributor?

    I like the idea

Will I need to be certified to install or can I do it myself?

Have you run any test yet to backup your claim?

    Show me the money!

    issues recycle,

co issues, venting issues, flat rate and tripod union issues.
Approval, maybe, the DOT, EPA. RPA or the PGA?

    Seal of approval

The copper association would probable add their seal of approval since you could run the branch lines in their 50yr. guaranted tubing

    What about...

...Reset here? I don't like it if I can't control it.......I looove it when some of the greatest in our industry come up with bulletproof material and ideas like this.

    HR I suspect...

that this whole crazy idea is just a subtly veiled attempt to find another opportunity to use your rems curvo.
Now isn't it! Oh sure, you make it sound so simple. "pipe tripod like boyscouts use"... but I can see it already... a polished copper creation with more radius' than a snakes back. Why don't you just admit to us that you can't control yourself. We want to help you. Remember that denial you have a problem is one of the sure signs...

    Neanderthal Heating System

Don't overlook the "humidifying" aspects of this concept.
An additional suggestion, you might tie in a Mold Removal service.

Installed several cap fulls of TOP JOB in mixing station : Just look @ that shine! FREE I just used the wood off my old barn in back and will be using my neigbors wood tammary. BOC/NJ

    Indoor reset...

If it gets too hot upstairs, you could have small water tight doors in the floors that would open up and allow the hot water to flow to the basement, thereby satisfying the basements heating needs.

Once again, it would disprove the homeowners myths about heat rising...
