My G.F.A. furnase is coming on when needed, it fires up for 1-2 minutes then the flame shuts down but exhaust fan keeps running, then it go,s threw the ignition and fire up cycle again then blower comes on and everything cycles on and off correctly the second time threw. Why is this happening and how can I fix this. THANKS!

It could be....
....any number of things. My first guess is either a poor flame-sensing signal, or possibly a pressure switch problem. The pressure switches, by the way, rarely fail. It's usually something else wrong that causes the switch to drop out. You need to have an experienced service technician take a look at this - it is not a job for a novice.
Good luck,

More Details??? please
Is this an 80 or 90% furnace? How old is it? Brand would be helpful. Have you checked your air filter? Sounds like it's dropping the flame on a temp safety of some kind. Either the high limit (usually resets by itself) or a flame rollout (manual reset) If it's a 90% you may have a condensate draining problem. The fact that the blower stays on tells me that there is still a call for heat or there the HX is hot enough to keep it running. Could be a LOT of things. Please provide more details if you can.0 -

Furnase runs incorrectly
S Ebels thanks for quick responce, the furnase is a ARCO AIR made in 1992 and is 90 plus effecientcy. We had a fairly cold day here yesterday and I noticed the furnase ran correctly the first time threw on every fire up. When the days were warmer is when it didn,t run correctly. Why would this be? Could it be the pin setting in the thermostat. What do you think! THANKS0 -
Does this Arco-Aire have
a hot surface igniter? If so is there a little box attached to the igniter or screwed underneath the igniter? If so this is a "Radiant Sense" type system and that could be causing your problem. There is a replacement kit available from International Comfort Products (Arco-Aire parent company) if that is the system you have.
It could also be some other things but getting a pro to take a look at it would help. If who ever you get to look at it doesn't understand "Radiant Sense" have them get in touch with me and I will fax them some instructions.0
