This is not
a new idea by any means. I've seen systems set up this way for years with an outdoor airstat turning the pump on and activating the boiler (system starter). Another concept that has been proven to be effective over the years is the use of two-stage thermostats to control the pump and burner individually. On a call for heat, stage one will bring on the pump. If the temperature is not satisfied, stage two will bring on the burner as well. Reset controls take this same concept and provide the ability to modulate the water temperature to make only what is needed at any given time, thus extending the heating cycle with much cooler water temperature. This does away with overheating of the building during the more moderate climate periods. Hope this helps.
