Douglass flush valve for wooden tank ?

an old wooden tank that had a defective copper tank. We wanted to redo everything, so tossed the older parts. We have a nice brass fill valve but the brass douglass flush valve that we got is to short to go thru the wooden tank and leave us enough room for the flush ell nut to attach.

Any one have any access to this type of longer shank flusk valve.

I told my service guy I would ask The Best. :)

You probably need another 1/2\" to make the nut connection.

I would use a large hole saw to counter sink the tank nut that secures the Douglas valve just enough to allow the flush ell nut and washer to bite and tighten. I have not seen longer shank Douglas valves lately. Let me know if this is do-able.
