GV GOLD / COLD START / PROPANE / LEAKING WATER

HEY EVERYONE I HAVE A QUESTION. I INSTALLED THE GV GOLD FOR A CUSTOMER ABOUT 4 OR 5 YEARS AGO. THE HEAT IS FINE, BUT IT NOW LEAKS FROM BENEATH. MY QUESTION IS WHAT I SHOULD DO, I WAS GOING TO USE A BOILER ADDITIVE. I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW IF THIS IS A GOOD IDEA OR SHOULD I BREAK IT DOWN AND PUT BACK TOGETHER. ITS NOT A BAD LEAK. ANY IDEAS OR SUGGESTIONS I AM UP FOR. AND IS THIS NORMAL FOR THE GV TO DO THIS AFTER 5 YEARS?

My first concern would be to locate exactly what is leaking. If it is a hole in the boiler then an additive would be unfair to your customer..just putting off what should be done..I Would find the problem..if it were my fault fix it..if it is a issue with the block check with W/M and see how they want it dealt with for warranty issue's...they may replace it or repair it and pay to have it done...IMHO...:)

if boiler is leaking it needs to be replaced, boiler sealer is not a fix but just a bandaid. if its only 4 or 5 years old it should be under warranty.

if it's the GV are you sure...

that the condensate hose did not come loose or break? The GV has one. If it's leaking at a section don't put it off long. As soon as good weather hits get it done asap. kpc

Amen to that!

I had been in a bit of a stuggle to get my head above water the last month but I am better now....that week of really cold weather was a killer as far as the schedule goes...how bout you guys? kpc

it was a **** for us also .iam just starting to recover. ahh but in a couple of months we will forget all about last winter as we suck down cold ones around the pool
