    Pressure

You need one pound of water pressure for every 2.5' of rise + 2 # for safety... So if the highest radiator is 20' you need 10# of water pressure... The pressure reducing valve has a adjustment on it but in my experience I would replace it with a new one if it act up..But first make sure the fast fill lever is not partly on....The new one may come adjusted at 15# which is fine...

don't alway's believe what you see....

If your boiler is to temp and the pressure relief valve has not discharged any pressure then the unit is not overpressureized...More than likely the auto fill was set to #15 and did it's job..you then heated the water to 180 degree's which pushed the pressure up..now when you release water from the boiler and drop the pressure down..the auto fill just toss's some more cold water back in...and starts the cycle all over again..as to the guage...don't put all your money in a single guage...they can be wrong some time's...

    what do you have for....

radiation? Are they cast iron rads? If so a #30 extrol might not be big enough...go to a #60. kpc
