Fyrite Pro 125

I have the Fyrite Pro 125 and I am not sure if the Draft sensor works correctly. The numbers never stop moving making it impossible to get a reading. Is this a problem with the draft portion of the meter or am I doing something wrong???

Draft reading
Not sure, need a little more info. Does the reading seem stable when the probe is outside the stack and after you have zeroed it?
Also, if you use it to set up gas pressure does it seem stable?0 -
Draft
I only use it for checking draft. The reading stays steady when not in stack.0 -
Try...
If you can use it sometime soon to check gas pressure (which should be very stable) that should eliminate whether something is going on with the pressure sensor or whether there is pulsation with the burner.
Also, do keep in mind that it does take as long as 15 minutes for digital pressure sensors to completely 'stabalize', it's a good idea to zero frequently when you first turn it on and never move it around (which will effect the zero) - that's why the 125 comes with a magnetic boot. Remember, we're measuring hundredths and thousandths of an inch - not much pressure at all

Fyrite Pro 125 ...draft
Mine moves up as the chimney gets hot also fluctuates a little as the wind changes.

Isn't that what the\"hold \"button is for?
Once you've got the burner dialed in and running to satisfaction, hit the "Hold" button and the machine freezes the readings being taken. I believe by hitting the "enter" button 2 times,it says to print. Hit it again and you'll get it to send to the printer and have a copy of the results.
I've not yet contemplated the draft reasoning to the point that I'm obsessed with it. I just zero the unit once the flue temp. has stabilized, and take it from there.
Hey Rudy, am I missing something? Chris0 -
what the\"hold \"button is for?
No, you can also save it, hit enter and continue to make or track changes, hit hold hold and arrow to save another set and print all later. The hotter the chimney gets or the colder the outside air gets the stronger the draft, so goes the # wc.
I hope all is going well with you Chris, al0 -
Oh boy
Now I'm getting confused (or maybe it's the wine!!). Chris, I think you've got it, it's just that the newer Pros have a save feature which really confuses things.
If you want, give me a call. I'll be available all week and even the weekend (got training and 'booth duty' at a show). If you can't get me at 740-594-0033 (office) try my cell 412-576-1350.
We'll get it figured out!!0 -
Oh boy
Hey Rudy,
Has anyone found the smoke check part I need?
al0 -
Hi Al, I emailed you earlier and it came back undeliverable.... What I said was that it was nuts here today and I completely spaced taking mine apart to compare the pics you sent with my smoke gun and see what you needed.
I'll do that tomorrow and get in touch with you - it's buried in my truck and will take a while to find!!0
